Darcy is designed as a local-first app for tracking personal health, appointments, and journey information.
By default, your records stay on your device. If you choose to turn on iCloud sync, eligible Darcy records can also sync through Apple's CloudKit service in your private iCloud account. Darcy does not run its own health-data backend, does not use advertising SDKs, and does not use third-party analytics SDKs to profile your activity.
Darcy may store the following on your device:
If you export data, import data, create a journey media export, or create a backup, those files are created at your direction and stored wherever you choose to save them.
If you enable iCloud sync, eligible Darcy records can sync through Darcy's CloudKit container in your private iCloud account. Eligible sync data currently includes medications, intake history, journey entries, journey media, lab results, appointments, and song history.
Darcy does not send your health records to our own servers.
Darcy may use network connections for the following:
Those network requests do not intentionally include your health records. However, standard network metadata such as IP address and basic request information may be processed by Apple, GitHub, your ISP, or other infrastructure involved in delivering those requests.
Darcy performs most core tracking, reminder, and record-management work on device.
Darcy also uses Apple frameworks and services for certain features:
Darcy does not create or store its own biometric template for Face ID or Touch ID.
Darcy may ask for these permissions to enable specific features:
You can change or revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Darcy does not sell your personal data.
If you choose to use Apple services such as iCloud sync, App Store purchases, calendar import, or speech recognition, those features are governed in part by Apple's systems and policies.
If you choose to export, share, save, or back up your data, that content may contain sensitive information, and its later handling depends on where you save it, who you share it with, and what protections you use outside Darcy.
Darcy relies on a combination of iOS protections and Darcy features to help protect your data, including local storage protections, optional app lock, encrypted backups, and user-controlled reminder privacy settings.
Encrypted backups use the password you choose. Darcy does not keep a copy of that password and cannot recover it for you.
Because Darcy data may be stored locally on your device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud account, your overall protection also depends on your device security, Apple account security, and operating system settings.

Important: turning off iCloud sync, switching a device to local-only mode, or deleting Darcy data on one device does not automatically delete copies that may already exist in your private iCloud account or on other synced devices.
Deleting the app removes locally stored Darcy data from that device, but it does not by itself guarantee removal of copies that may still exist in your private iCloud account.
Darcy is an organizational and tracking tool, not a medical device. Darcy does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice.
Darcy is not presented as a Covered Entity under HIPAA because Darcy does not receive, maintain, or transmit your protected health information to developer-operated backend systems. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
